ANF Snowmobile Trails Open

The Allegheny National Forest snowmobile trails will open on December 20th at 8:00am. ATV Trails will remain closed.  The only trail which will remain closed due to flooding is Snowmobile Connector Trail #12 (Marienville Bypass). Make sure to use caution when riding these trails because only a limited number will be groomed.

Starting December 26th, 2017, the Allegheny National Forest will be switching to their winter hours. The offices will be open to the public Monday through Friday 8:00am until 4:30pm. The offices will be closed for lunch from 12:00pm-12:30pm. The following offices are open for walk ins to the public:

Dam Rehabilitation Project Continues at Chapman State Park

The preparations of the site are now complete and the project is ready to move forward. The next step includes earthing the dam, spillway steps, and sediment removal. As of this winter, ice skating and ice fishing are not permitted due to the rehabilitation of the dam still being in process.

“The snowmobiling loading/unloading lot has been relocated to the mooring area parking lot, near the warming hut, for this season. Allegheny National Forest’s Snowmobile. Route ‘Red 1’ that transects the park, will be accessible via the park’s ‘Warming Hut Trail’. The warming hut, sledding hill, and adjacent restrooms will remain open, lighted nightly until 8 PM. While the campground has closed for the season, hiking and cross-country skiing trails will
