Sugar Grove

Sugar Grove

Founded in 1802 by the Revolutionary War Veterans, Sugar Grove was named for its beautiful maple forest covering the valley and surrounding hills. Every spring, the Maple Syrup Festival competition determines the best crop of the year.
Escaped slaves found refuge in the homes of local abolitionists that were connected to the Underground Railroad.
Sugar Grove offers travelers distinctive shops and restaurants. Be careful of fast trotting Amish buggies as the village is surrounded by Amish farms. During the harvest season, you can find roadside stands that offer homemade goods.
