It's no secret that many fine products are created right here in Warren County! I often advocate to shop local and I practice what I preach. In many of my shopping trips throughout Warren County, I have found great products that I purchase on a regular basis. I was a loyal shopper of the Bath & Body Company until I found a better product that just happens to be made in Warren! Owner, Wanda Hughes recognizes me as a regular customer at her store, Passionately Naturals Soap Company, located on East 3rd Street in Warren, next to Beaty Middle School. I don't event need to tell Wanda what products I am there to purchase as she already knows my favorites, black licorice soap and peppermint balm. Wanda was kind enough to show me the process of making soap on one of my visits and I was very interested to observe.
Wanda heats coconut oil, cocoa butter, and palm oil over the stove to a certain temperature, then mixes it with lye water that she prepares in a separate area. She then mixes in essential oil and clay color. Next, Wanda pours the mixture in a mold. She taps the bottom of the mold to get any bubbles out.
Wanda then spreads charcoal powder throughout half of the mixture and pours the remain mixture over the charcoal powder. She mixes it with a special tool and then uses a stick to swirl the charcoal powder throughout. To prevent soda ash, Wanda sprays alcohol which also prevents oxygen getting into the soap.
The mixture is left to sit and keep warm. It is then cut, and the logo is pressed into each bar. It is then set aside for about a month until wrapped.
When you walk into the store, you will be met by a heavenly scent! Not only does Wanda create a variety of soaps, but she also makes body butter, shaving soap, candles, melts, insect repellent, lip balm and more! Passionately Naturals has become a family affair for the Hughes Family. Wanda's family often pitches in to help where needed and her daughters are also future entrepreneurs as well selling artwork, charms, and jewelry. In addition to all of Wanda's creations she has also started selling gemstones!

Without our support they will become a thing of the past.
