    In the early 1800's settlers came to log the regions lush forests, mid-century they came to drill for oil. Their legacy to all is the national historic district in the city of Warren and the villages of Sheffield, Sugar Grove, Tidioute and Youngsville. The great Victorian homes that they built stand today as a testament to the wealth that logging and oil brought to the region.
